Description
This is England and sometimes it rains! Woldgate runs from Bridlington through to Kilham which used to be an important Roman town on the route to York. It is beautiful in all seasons and all weathers. I have painted it on many occasions but never in the rain before. I was just inspired by the luminosity of the wet road framed by the trees. It was early spring and we had had a spell of intermittent unusually warm weather with severe storms � ideal conditions for tree growth so the foliage was unseasonably abundant. Under the lightening sky everything was shimmering � a truly wonderful sight to see.
