Description
The name 'Quaker's Trod ' is a misnomer. The 'trods' or stone pathways that criss cross the Yorkshire Moors were laid down many years earlier to transport wool to the East Coast for export to Europe. This particular section is located in East Arncliffe Woods near Danby. However the Quaker's were very happy to use them as they covered the vast empty moorland. Their simple message was well received by the hardy moor dwellers and there are lots of traces left behind of their work including a well looked after Quaker's burial ground in Leaholm.
