Description
It was almost a rite of passage as a young man when you first entered the Junction Tap Room. In a permanent fug of tobacco smoke, it was a place of laughter and loud voices, a place to meet on Saturday lunchtime before going off to play football and a place to meet before heading off to the fleshpots of Leeds and Morley on the quest to find a ‘bird’. It was a haven where manly pursuits were practised - darts, dommies, all fours and at early doors on Sunday, the weekly farting contest – never much of a contest if Roy (Rocky) Hudson had been anywhere near a cabbage or heaven help us …. sprouts! It was a very brave or foolish lady who ventured into this male dominated room and they did not linger long. I have used these muted colours deliberately to create a nostalgic feel for the memories I have for this hallowed place. I am sure you too have many affectionate memories of the Junkie Tap ‘Oil.
