Artist's Description

Dane's Dyke was originally constructed over a thousand years ago to keep out the Vikings. It protected the whole headland of Flamborough. Obviously when first made all the trees were cut down so attackers had no cover. Today, though, it is a fantastic nature reserve and worth visiting in any saeson.
