You will all know who Vincent is but have probably never heard of Gildersome. Gildersome is where I grew up. It is situated in the West Riding of Yorkshire.When I was a boy(so long ago!) it was a thriving industrial village, surrounded by collieries and contained five heavy woollen mills. All gone now of course. This was a bit of fun with the iPad starting with an old black and white photo of Finkle Lane in the late nineteenth century and painted quickly with small strokes of primary colours.
LIGHT.......inspires me LEGEND.......intrigues me LANDSCAPE inspires me! I have letters after my name...F.O.L....but it is not 'Fellow of..' but 'Fell Off'...a ladder! While waiting for operations on my knees I took up painting to pass the time. Like so many other people I soon became hooked and embarked on a fascinating journey to learn how to improve and develop my style..a journey that never ends...but what a trip! I took the plunge in 2003 and with the support of my lovely wife I began to paint full time. Since then I have had the good fortune to exhibit in many prestigious galleries and shows, selling paintings all over the world.
