Description
For almost twenty years I have been using the same five colours for my paintings, and they have served me well. But it was not always so. When I first started, I experimented with lots of colours before reducing them down to the selected five. The rest were languishing in my materials drawer…. until a couple of days ago. I was looking in the drawer and found nearly full tubes of different colours. I’m from Yorkshire so don’t like waste. The simple solution was to use some of them. This is my first attempt without my usual colours for many years. Raw Sienna replaced my usual yellow and Burnt Sienna my usual red. Antwerp blue (I used this a lot at one time) replaced my blue and off I went. Robin Hoods Bay must be one of the prettiest seaside villages in the country so is always a joy to paint. I enjoyed the experiment and have a few more tubes to try.
