Artist's Description
I appreciate how fortunate we are to live in a small village surrounded by lovely pastoral scenes such as this. I know painters who have travelled miles to paint the Yorkshire Wolds, and here it is right on my doorstep. This is the track down to the appropriately named Zig Zag Woods which does indeed zig zag its merry way for a couple of miles down to Rudston. This part of the Wolds lies on a bed of chalk, so the ground is white. This makes the furrows and tractor tyre marks stand out. If you can’t get to the countryside yourself, I hope this brings the countryside to you.
