This intriguing painting was part of the preparation for my 'Inspiration' series. This was a series featuring my interpretation of the works of artists who have inspired me. The artist in question here was the great John Atkinson Grimshaw the acknowledged master of the romantic nocturne genre. This is my own composition magically transformed from the mundane to the mysterious by the magic of moonlight.
LIGHT.......inspires me LEGEND.......intrigues me LANDSCAPE inspires me! I have letters after my name...F.O.L....but it is not 'Fellow of..' but 'Fell Off'...a ladder! While waiting for operations on my knees I took up painting to pass the time. Like so many other people I soon became hooked and embarked on a fascinating journey to learn how to improve and develop my style..a journey that never ends...but what a trip! I took the plunge in 2003 and with the support of my lovely wife I began to paint full time.
