Artist's Description

This was painted as a test on a new paper I was using for the first time. I had been commissioned to paint a 5' x 4' watercolour on Arches 300lb CP. It was like cardboard compared to my preferred paper so thought it best to try it out on a few small paintings before I got stuck into the big one. I went through my old materiel to find paintings that would enable me to use lots of different watercolour techniques. This fitted the bill - plenty of masking fluid, lots of washes and mixing colours on the paper. The paper was excellent and this painting worked as a painting on its own merit. Incidentally the commission was a great success as well.

Since then I have had the good fortune to exhibit in many prestigious galleries and shows, selling paintings all over the world. I am also a Professional Associate Tutor of the Society of All Artists and...
