Artist's Description

This suburban landscape has a special significance for me. It is based on an old black and white photograph unfortunately unaccredited. Its Sugarwell Road in Meanwood which is a suburb of Leeds. The date is circa 1950. And guess what? This is the very block of houses where my wife Merice was born on the 6th March 1950. In fact the house that is lit up is the actual one! She was born at home in her Grandmas house. I wanted to make the painting as colourful as possible but still retain the twilight feel so it was an interesting challenge. I am pleased with the result but more importantly..so is Merice!

Since then I have had the good fortune to exhibit in many prestigious galleries and shows, selling paintings all over the world. I am also a Professional Associate Tutor of the Society of All Artists and...
