Artist's Description

Cottam Airfield was constructed as an RAF Bomber Command Base during WW2. Though never actually being used for bombing raids, it was in use until 1954. The remains of the base are scattered over a wide area and include buildings and a runway, This is from a pleasant stroll up towards the runway from Scarborough Road. It is a typical Wolds scene with it's big skies and rolling hills. This is the view in early Summer.
