Artist's Description

This painting is in homage to one pf my great art heroes. John Atkinson was a Victorian artist who was known as the master of moonlight. He lived in Leeds and would have been familiar with imposing structure of the town hall on the skyline. Grimshaw’s paintings always included a mysterious lone woman walking away from the viewer but I decided to give her a companion.
