Artist's Description
This is from a sketch dated 16th April 2016. It was my last year as artist in residence at Burton Agnes Hall. I did two spells, one in April and one in September. This is the view of the Hall from a nice comfortable bench in a secluded part of the grounds. I remember the sketch well. I was accompanied by a pair of blue tits hence the title. For the painting, I decided to try and follow the pencil marks I had made with a brush. It took a bit longer working this way, but it was an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.
