Artist's Description
The inspiration for this painting was a delightful little beck on Back Lane which is just around the corner from where I live in Kilham. We spotted this hidden gem on our daily exercise walk. The painting though, took on a life of its own as they sometimes do. The foreground trees are as they were and the thicket on the left is pretty accurate. The beck still features so I am going to retain the original title. It’s the time of year when Mother Nature is preparing to burst forth in all its glory but for now, the trees are still standing stark, marshalling their resources in readiness.
