Hi Warren. I suppose the style would be classed as 'romantic'. It is just a bee in my bonnet about those great painters who worked so hard at their craft and then are dismissed as 'old fashioned' or worse 'chocolate box'!

Beautiful landscape.distance and great buildings. Is there a name for the ignored style?

Artist's Description

Tintern Abbey is situated on the banks of the delightful River Wye. This painting was done as part of my 'Inspiration' series and is based on an original oil painting by Benjamin Williams Leader RA. As ever it is not intended as a straight copy, but more as a tribute to a now largely ignored style of British landscape art.

Since then I have had the good fortune to exhibit in many prestigious galleries and shows, selling paintings all over the world. I am also a Professional Associate Tutor of the Society of All Artists and...
